Winter revival blessings
Evangelist Dave Young preaches at FBTA

– by Caleb P, sophomore –

Evangelist Dave Young and his family came to FBT on Jan. 27-30 for revival services and visited the academy to speak to the students. During this time, many people were excited that he came and could not wait to hear him preach.

“Last week was really awesome, and I really appreciated how he took his time just to come down to our chapel to talk to us,” said Daniel R, 8th grade.

“It’s been over two years since he last came, and when they announced he was coming for winter revival, I was really excited!” exclaimed Amy F, freshman.

“He was a huge blessing to me,” said Sarah H. “He preached a message from Ephesians 2, and he made the whole congregation repeat ‘But God’ and it really encouraged me.”

Everything was going well until Tuesday, Jan. 29. Winds were blowing, ice started to form, and the whole Washington, D.C. area shut down because of the storm, and evangelist Dave Young was not able to preach at FBT because of those conditions.

Although we did not have school on Jan. 30, FBT still wanted to have one more revival service. Pastor Abbey encouraged members to stay home and watch the live streaming service. Even though some people did not get the message and came to the service despite the hazardous conditions, Evangelist Dave Young was able to preach and many people watched from their homes.

We may have obstacles in life and things that get in our way of worshipping God, but many times, He will make a way that we didn’t expect.
