Friday, May 9, the elementary students performed “Alone, but not Alone,” a play based on the story of Daniel from the Bible. Daniel faced many trials in his life, being separated from his home and family, but he still had strong faith in God.
“It just felt really good because I just felt like I was spreading the Gospel,” said 6th grader Collin H, the lead actor of the play.
The play began near the beginning of Daniel’s life when he was taken away to Babylon, and highlighted the trial of the fiery furnace and later in his life, the lions’ den.
One of the main points of the play was to try and spread the Gospel through the story of Daniel, and the actors in this play worked hard and tried their best to accomplish the goal.
“I think one thing that stood out was just … the amazing job the teachers did of preparing a really whole-scale production,” said Pastor Christensen, youth pastor.
Teachers like Ms. Bowers, Ms. Lawlor, Mrs. Probus, Mrs. Smith, and more worked many hours to coach the students and prepare the show to make it the best it could be. Pastor Abbey even got into the act by playing the part of King Nebuchadnezzar.
“[My favorite part of the play was] Daniel just praising the Lord with his faithfulness,” said Mr. Niggl, science teacher.
