Teddy bears and tasty treats
Pre-school alphabet adventure

– by Dianna M, sophomore –

Pre-school has kicked off the beginning of school and fall with some favorite annual activities, led by teachers creatively helping students learn their alphabet.

The preschool class learned about the letter “A” by making applesauce and eating it. The students helped the teachers by bringing  various types and colors of apples to school. Teacher aides cut the apples, and students helped by pouring the different ingredients into the instapot.

“We checked on it several times while it was heating, so the students could see the different stages of applesauce,” said Miss Tripp, preschool aide. “We didn’t even peel the apples this year, but it still turned out great.”

“When the kids were learning the letter ‘T’ for Teddy Bear Day, they brought their teddy bears to school,” said Miss Mumford, preschool aide. “One of them had Paddington Bear, and another had a bear with a Bible verse stitched onto its belly, which I thought was so cute. Mrs. Vasquez brought a really big teddy bear, which the kids absolutely loved.”

The children got to bring their bears with them everywhere, even to chapel and recess.

These playful and engaging activities not only help children connect letters to real-life experiences, but also create lasting memories filled with laughter, learning, and love.
