After tying their two games against Heritage Christian School during the regular soccer season, the boys’ team had their best chance in several years to win the banner during the ODACS Men’s Soccer Tournament on Tuesday in Woodbridge, VA.
In a closely-matched, hard-fought game, Heritage edged out Fairfax 2-1, which gave FBTA the second place trophy for the season.
John F, Daniel P, Jameson R, juniors, and Jonathan B, senior, made the all-tournament team, with Jonathan scoring a beautiful goal against Heritage.
With several questionable calls throughout the game, there were some difficult moments on the field and in the stands.
“It was disappointing to take second, but I’m not unhappy with our playing, especially the second half,” said Connor D, senior.
The team finished the season strong with 6 wins, 2 losses, and 3 ties. They practiced hard, have improved in many areas, and are definitely in a better position next year to win the championship.
Thank you to Mr. Bradford for his diligent work with the team and his dedication to developing the students’ skills as well as their character, helping them to become their very best.
