The soccer team had an excellent beginning to their season winning their first four matches by a combined score of 15-3. Having won the last three ODACS (Old Dominion Association of Church Schools) championships, the team is looking to win another title and accomplish a historic four-peat.
The team kicked off the season against James River Homeschool—a rival they’d never beaten in five years of matchups. Determined to snap the streak, they dominated for a 2-0 win.
“It was good to start the season with a win against a tough team like James River,” said Daniel L, junior. “It showed us what we did well, in addition to some things we need to improve.”
In the next game, the team beat Heritage 3-0 despite being down some key players, using the game to build confidence and develop chemistry. They also won a non-conference game against Temple 4-2. Despite the pouring rain in the next game against Faith, Fairfax won 6-1.
The next game on the schedule was against Carroll Christian, who they had not played since the 2021 season. Although missing several key players due to injury and sickness, the team still put up a great fight, but lost a tightly-contested match 0-1.
“The Carroll Christian game tested us because it forced us to learn to play without some key players, but overall the team played very well,” said Daniel F, senior.
All in all, the team has a great start to the season and continues to have championship aspirations. With a few more games against Great Hope and James River behind them, the team is looking forward to being tested later in the season.
