The Patriots volleyball team started off the season defeating Heritage in five sets, and Keystone in three sets. With a strong preseason, the team is set up to make another championship run.

I’m excited to see how each member on our team will progress in their skills, and how our rotation will solidify as the season goes on,” said Becca H, senior captain.

The team opened the game against tough-rival Heritage, losing the first set, but coming back to win the second and third sets, and starting the fourth set with an 8-2 lead. After squandering the lead and losing the fourth set, team captains Alaina B and Becky H and Coach Christensen urged the team to stay calm, and they came out focused with senior Joyce G serving the last 6 points for a 15-8 win the fifth set.

“When we found out that our first game was going to be at Heritage, we were a little nervous, but Mrs. C encouraged us, and we played our best,” said Camila C, sophomore.

In the next game against Keystone, the girls were anticipating a good, clean win to build confidence, and won the first set easily, and the second by a score of 25-8. The team struggled more in the third set, but still managed to eke out a massive three-set win.

The JV team is midway through their season with a record of 5-2. Coach Tripp praised her team on their recent win against Heritage.

“Alex G had two blocks, Lori M and Bella W helped the team get several points with their serves, Adriana C got in a few kills, and Addison K covered the court well with her passing,” said Coach Tripp.
