No snow? Power in all the classrooms? Yes, the Jan. 22 FBTA Open House was a success this year.
For the last few years, there has been snow and Fairfax County power outages on Open House day, so it came as a delight this year to find out that the roads, although cold, were safe enough to have the event.
Open House is the day where families reenroll for the next school year. Also, new prospective families come and take a look at what goes on in our school.
The student council leads new families on tours and helps answer questions with the academy office staff.
“Talking to the parents was out of my comfort zone, but it was a good experience,” said Jinnea B, sophomore class representative.
The office staff that made this day possible were Mrs. Zakaria, Mrs. Darby, Mrs. Mitchell, Mr. Bradford, and Mr. Briggs. Also, our preschool supervisor, Mrs. Vasquez helped lead tours of our preschool and answer questions for new parents.
“It’s really nice to work in this event,”said Mrs. Zakaria, academy A/R secretary. “You kind of fall in love with our school again when you see it through someone else’s eyes. We have a great place, and it’s just wonderful to show others and have people see what we see and love what we love.”
We are thankful for the wonderful impact of this event. Let’s be in prayer for the upcoming school year.
