Haidy Amin
Academy Receptionist

Haidy Amin works as our Academy Receptionist.  She graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. Before coming to FBTA, she worked for 4 years as an assistant to the director at Dar Al-Handasah, a leading international consulting engineering organization, and she is fluent in Arabic. She worked as an aide at FBTA from 2021 to 2022, and returned in the fall of 2024.

Heather Bowers
4th Grade Teacher

Heather Bowers teaches 4th grade at the academy and directs our elementary play each spring. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in History, from Pensacola Christian College in FL. She has over 16 years experience in elementary education and has judged several speech and fine arts competitions before coming to FBTA in the fall of 2017.

Craig Christensen
Senior High Bible

Craig Christensen is the Youth Pastor at FBT, teaches senior high Bible classes, and coaches boys varsity basketball. He prepared for ministry at Maranatha Baptist University, Watertown, WI, graduating with a degree in Math and Bible, while also finding time to play intercollegiate football, basketball, and baseball. Prior to coming to FBT, he had worked in youth ministry for 18 years, preaching the Word of God and partnering with families to see young people changed for the Lord’s glory. He began teaching here in the fall of 2024. 

Jami Christensen
6th grade English, Civics

Jami Christensen teaches 6th grade English, Spelling, Reading, and Civics, and coaches our girls' varsity volleyball team. She received a bachelor's degree in Education from Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, WI, playing intercollegiate volleyball while she was there. As the Youth Pastor's wife, she works tirelessly with our teen department each Sunday and Wednesday night to help keep activities running smoothly. She began teaching at FBTA in the fall of 2024.

Anita Darby
Project Manager / Art / Family & Consumer Science

Anita Darby teaches junior and senior high art classes, home economics, and is the academy’s Project Manager, handling fundraisers and special events. Before coming to FBTA, she spent 20 years in the USAF, retiring from the Pentagon where she oversaw human resource programs for 86 USAF bases. She attended the University of Maryland and has been employed by FBTA since 1996.

Pam Davis
1st Grade Teacher's Aide

Pam Davis is our teacher’s aide for 1st grade at the academy, and has many years of experience with special needs children. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock State College, PA. She taught at FBTA from 1985 to 1988, and then returned and taught kindergarten from 1996 to 2015.

Faith Dea
Preschool/Elementary Aide

Faith Dea works in K3 and with our elementary students as a teacher's aide. She received a master's degree in Religious Education from West Coast Baptist College, Lancaster, CA, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, from Louisiana Baptist University, Shreveport, LA. She taught 3 years as a Christian school teacher, 6 years as an ESL teacher in Asia, and 7 years homeschooling her children while serving as a military wife. She began working at FBTA in the fall of 2025.

Deanna Dyck
Journalism/Yearbook/Newspaper

Deanna Dyck is our graphic designer, teaching high school journalism and photography, and overseeing the production of our yearbook and school newspaper. She also oversees the Resource Center computers and materials. Prior to her years at FBT, she worked as the lead graphic designer for a public relations firm in Washington, D.C. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Art from Pensacola Christian College, FL, and has been working at FBT since 2006.

Jennifer Floyd
Jr High Life Science, Sr High Anatomy

Dr. Jennifer Floyd is currently teaching junior high Life Science and senior high anatomy. She attended Duke University for her bachelor’s in Biology and North Carolina State University for her master’s and PhD in Botany. She previously taught college classes for 25 years at New River Community College in Virginia, University of Guam, University of San Diego, and Olympic College in Washington State. She also has experience with homeschooling and taught high school biology courses before coming to FBTA in the fall of 2025.

Jordan Ford
Junior High History, Speech, Theatre

Jordan Ford teaches junior high history, speech, and theatre classes. She graduated with her bachelors and masters degrees in theatre from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. She worked for a nonprofit community theatre and taught communication skills to medical students at University of Colorado Anschutz after graduation. She began working at FBTA in the fall of 2025.  

Dae Hee Hwang
Kindergarten, Sr. High Korean

Dae Hee Hwang teaches K5 in our Academy, and will be teaching Korean to our senior high students. She graduated from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, earning a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She is also a gifted artist, and taught art classes to the K5 through 5th grade students before becoming the K5 teacher. Dae Hee began working at FBTA as a preschool aide in 2017 and taught K4 from 2019 to 2022.

Amy Lampert
6th Grade Science / Computer Applications

Amy Lampert teaches 6th grade Science, 7th grade keyboarding, and 8th grade computer applications. Amy graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, with a degree in Business Management. She worked for a non-profit agency in Brussels, Belgium, helping take kidney care to third world countries, prior to joining us in the fall of 2021. Amy is also a graduate of FBTA.

Bethany Lawlor
5th Grade Teacher

Bethany Lawlor is our 5th grade teacher. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and an Associates in Christian Ministry from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. She has worked as a camp counselor for ten years, beginning while preparing for and attending college. She began working for FBTA in the fall of 2019.

Janet Layden
1st Grade Teacher

Janet Layden teaches 1st grade at the academy and has devoted her career to working with children. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Temple University, Chattanooga, TN. She taught elementary classes for 5 years before coming to work at FBTA from 1984 to 1990 and then again beginning in 1996 to the present.

Jeanette Majano
Sr High English / Debate

Jeanette Majano will be teaching Sr. High and AP English and coaching the Debate Team this year. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College, FL, with a master's degree in English Curriculum and Instruction, and a bachelor's degree in History, with a minor in Speech. She joined FBTA in the fall of 2020.

Chris Martin
Choir/Band Director

Chris Martin oversees the music department at the academy, teaching senior high choir and junior and senior high band. Chris graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a master’s degree in Educational Administration. Since 2003, he has served in church and school ministry as a music teacher, music minister, and school administrator. He began working for FBTA in the summer of 2023. 

Joy Martin
Academy Assistant/Social Media Coordinator

Joy Martin works as the academy administrative assistant, organizing the office and keeping students and parents informed about the latest events. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College, with a bachelor's and master’s degree in music performance. For over 20 years she has taught music, as well as served in school administrative assistant positions. A highlight for her was filling in as a 1^st grade teacher for a year. She joined FBTA in the fall of 2023.

Jenelle Niggl
Accounts Payable

Jenelle Niggl is the Accounts Payable Secretary and handles paying the bills and ordering. She previously worked as the Administrative Assistant in our Academy also handling student records and transcripts. She graduated with an associate's degree in Business, with a proficiency in Accounting, from Pensacola Christian College, FL. She taught and worked for 13 years as a Financial Secretary before coming to FBTA in the summer of 2008.

Mark Niggl
Jr/Sr High Science / Phys Ed

Mark Niggl teaches senior high science and science labs, as well as our boys' physical education classes. He attended Pensacola Christian College for 4 years and then graduated from The University of West Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science. He taught for 6 years, then served as a Christian school principal and athletic director for another 15 years before coming to FBTA in 2008.

Cherie Page
Sr High Math, Physics, AP Calculus

Cherie Page teaches Algebra, Geometry, Trig/PreCalculus, AP Calculus, and physics classes at the academy. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and has completed postgraduate coursework in Bible doctrines, teaching philosophy, and Advanced Placement instruction methods. She worked as an engineer on submarine sonar systems before leaving the field to homeschool her three children. She began teaching at FBTA in the fall of 2010.

Jennifer Perdue
3rd grade teacher

Jennifer Perdue teaches 3rd grade this year. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Trinity Baptist College, Jacksonville, FL, and has taught preschool through 6th grade for the past ten years. She began working at FBTA in the fall of 2024.

Stephen Perdue
Bible, Jr High Choir, Jr High & Elementary Band

Stephen Perdue teaches Bible and works in our music department teaching junior high handbells, junior high choir, junior high and elementary band. He also assists in high school music classes and gives private music lessons. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Bible and Pastoral Theology from Appalachian Bible College, Mount Hope, WV, and recently completed his master's degree in Music, graduating with a 4.0 from Pensacola Christian College. He taught for 13 years in Indiana before coming to FBTA in the fall of 2024.

Hannah Pierre
Piano, Elementary Spanish

 Hannah Pierre teaches private piano, beginner cello, and collaborative piano classes in addition to accompanying the academy choral groups. She will also teach Spanish for the elementary school this year. Hannah currently studies at George Mason University and will graduate in May of 2027 with her Master’s in Collaborative Piano and K-12 Music Ed Licensure Certificate. Before attending GMU, she obtained her Bachelor’s in Keyboard Performance and Certificate in Piano Pedagogy at Bob Jones University in 2023. While maintaining a private studio in Fairfax and Ashland, VA, Hannah enjoys collaborating with instrumentalists and vocalists for performances and special events. Her passion is redemptive storytelling through highly articulate music making, shining light and truth into the hearts of her listeners and students. 

Amanda Probus
Elementary Music

Amanda Probus leads our elementary music program, including choirs and music classes, and works in our Finance Office. She graduated from Maranatha Baptist University with a bachelor's in Elementary Education, with a Music Minor in voice proficiency. She is a graduate of FBTA, and led youth choirs for several years before coming back to FBTA in the fall of 2016.

Daniel Sherwin
Middle School Supervisor / Pre-algebra

Daniel Sherwin is our Middle School Supervisor and teaches pre-algebra. He graduated with a Masters in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Mathematics Education from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. He also commissioned into the National Guard through ROTC at Furman University. He previously taught middle school math and high school science in Indiana for three years before moving to FBTA in the fall of 2024.

Becky Skutt
K3 Teacher

Becky Skutt is our K3 teacher at the academy. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College in FL, with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and a master's degree in Education Administration. She plays the piano and accordion, and especially loves teaching students to read. She taught lower elementary classes for ten years before coming to FBTA in the fall of 2022.

Jeff Skutt
Percussion / Robotics / Resource Center

Jeff Skutt teaches percussion and robotics, assists with chapel music, helps with Bible classes in junior and senior high, and oversees testing in the Resource Center. He helps maintain our buses, drives for field trips and sporting events, and is willing to help wherever needed. He graduated from Pensacola Christian College in FL, with a bachelor's degree in Youth Ministries, and a master's degree in Church Music and Choral Conducting. He worked as a youth and music pastor and taught Sunday school for several years. He joined our staff in the fall of 2022.

Vicki Teran
Academy Administrative Assistant

Vicki Teran works as one of our academy administrative assistants. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies. After serving in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, she worked 16 years as a Management/Program Analyst for the Department of Defense. She began working for FBTA in the fall of 2025.   

Ashley Tripp
5th Grade Teacher

Ashley Tripp will be teaching our small 5th grade class this year. An FBTA alumni, she attended from K4 through 12th grade and then attended Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC, graduating with an Associate degree in Business. Ashley actively serves in her church’s children and nursery ministry, tutors students after school, and has experience as a camp counselor. She began working as a teacher's aide at FBTA in the spring of 2023.

Cassie Tripp
Jr High English / Phys Ed / Speech / ODACS Coordinator

Cassie Tripp teaches 6th grade math, elementary physical education, high school speech, and coordinates our ODACS Fine Arts Competition. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. She taught our kindergarten for five years. She has coached varsity volleyball, and is currently coaching varsity girls basketball. She is an FBTA alumni and has worked here since the fall of 2013.

Lucy Tucker
K5 Teacher's Aide

Lucy Tucker works part-time as the Kindergarten teacher's aide. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in elementary education. Lucy taught 7th grade for two years and homeschooled her five children for seven years until she started working for FBTA in 2016.

Sarah Urrutia
Geography / History / AP Government, Economics

Sarah Urrutia teaches geography, world history, and AP government and economics. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College in FL, with a bachelor's degree in History, and a master's degree in History Education. She has also worked in our athletic department as the JV Volleyball and Cheerleading Coach. She taught for seven years before coming to FBTA in the fall of 2022.

Lediane Vasquez
K4 Teacher/Preschool Supervisor

Lediane Vasquez is our Preschool Supervisor and also teaches K4 at the academy. She graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, VA, with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an emphasis in Elementary Education.  She has taught in both public and Christian schools—three years in kindergarten and over 13 years in preschool. In addition to teaching, she supervises the preschool program. She is also fluent in Portuguese. She previously served at FBTA from 2013 to 2019 and rejoined our staff in the fall of 2021.

Helen Zakaria
Financial Administrator / Enrollment Specialist, PDSO

Helen Zakaria works in our Finance Office and is one of the main point of contacts for enrollment at FBTA. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in International Studies from Towson State University in MD and has strong experience in both international and national sales and marketing. She organized ladies' soul-winning and Sunday school activities and assists with FBTA orientations, Academy Open House, and special tours. She began working for FBTA in 2011.
