A-MAZE-ing autumn adventures
FBTeens fall into fun at Belvedere Plantation

– by Becca, junior –

The FBTeens group gathered for their 5th annual fall activity at Belvedere Plantation in Spotsylvania County on Oct. 11—a day packed with fun, food, and friendship.

With over sixty teens in attendance, Pastor C, along with six other sponsors, had their plates full. From the moment they arrived, the teens had their pick of activities, from rope swinging over piles of hay in the barn, to making delicious s’mores by the warm campfire.

Other activities included letting creativity show by painting pumpkins under the pavilion, watching pig racing contests in a packed crowd, and purchasing a variety of fall treats like apple cider and pumpkin pie at the gift shop.

The most popular activity among the teens, however, was getting to navigate their way through either an easy corn maze or a difficult one, which could take up to an hour to solve.

“The corn maze was my favorite part of the Belvedere trip because it’s always really exciting and also funny to try and find your way through the maze with all of your friends,” shared Hanna, sophomore.

“If I could describe my time at Belvedere in three words, I would say that it was fun, entertaining, and freezing cold,” summed up Joyce, junior.

“The maze was the best part because I got to run through it with all of my friends and had to try to figure out which way to go since we chose the hardest maze,” agreed Luke, sophomore.

“I had a really good time in the corn maze at Belvedere,” said Nathan, senior, as he described a memorable maze adventure. “My friends and I got split up from the main group and eventually got lost. As we were struggling to find our way out, some random people that weren’t from the school helped us out and we were finally able to get to the end of the maze.”

Some teens enjoyed the challenge of getting through the maze in order to receive the reward waiting for them afterwards.

“I liked the corn maze the most because it was funny to get lost with my friends, and I was happy to finally get out so we could eat marshmallows,” said Julian, senior.

The chance to unwind and connect with friends around the stone campfire site while eating toasted marshmallows added a warm and memorable touch to the day’s excitement.

For the FBTeens, the day wasn’t just about fall festivities but also about building friendships and creating lasting memories. Whether finding their way through the maze or sharing laughs over snacks and a cozy fire, the day was a celebration of community, fun, and the joys of the autumn season.
